Last Saturday September 29, 2018, a group of five JC1 students who belonged to EduShare, along with Mr. Hector, went to the one of the 17 Indonesian Street Children Organisation’s (ISCO) sanggar, an activity house center, located at Jl. Rawa Bebek in North Jakarta to give five boxes filled with pre-loved bilingual books and storybooks that were gathered during EduShare’s two-week book drive held at BBS PIK.

Upon arriving there, we were greeted by Bu Relin, ISCO’s Penjaringan site lead person who took us from the parking spot to the inner street where the sanggar is situated. We were warmly welcomed by more than twenty pupils. During our conversations with them, we learned that those pupils turned up to their sanggar before and after their school time for six-times in a week next to their daily chores, their hobbies, and attending to their tutorial sessions every Saturday. Besides, we had some exchanges of our dreams, played ice-breaker games such as hangman and topped it with an amusing Baby Shark dance together. The room was abuzz with chatter and laughter. It was very fun, challenging and a very humbling experience for all of us as well.
